PROMARES
The project “PROMARES- Promoting maritime and multimodal freight transport in the Adriatic Sea”, led by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, was co-financed by the Italy – Croatia CBC Programme 2014 – 2020 Interreg V A.
Project Objective
The imbalanced development of multimodal transport options, weak coordination and communication of stakeholders and policy makers in the port-hinterland interface, uncoordinated measures and tools at cross-border level were hampering the full-fledged development of the potential for maritime and multimodal freight transport in the Programme Area.
The aim of PROMARES project was to enhance the maritime and multimodal freight transport gathering all the ports generating intermodal and multimodal transport flows, facing the challenges concerning the multimodal transport accessibility and network efficiency in the region, from the port to the hinterland, and increase the coordination and cooperation among the stakeholders.
Within the PROMARES project, the partners carried out territorial analyses based on common methodologies and elaborated a cross-border strategy, also in the field of ICT tools, for enhancing maritime and multimodal freight transport. Pilot actions in the Programme Area will follow.
